Terms of use
Terms for using Casebook
Last updated 16 October 2026
These terms are between Mango62 (company number [company number], registered office Rosewood House, Duffield Park, Stoke Poges, SL2 4HY), referred to as "we" or "Mango62", and the firm that signs up to use Casebook, referred to as "you" or "the firm". By creating an account or using Casebook, you agree to them on behalf of your firm. They are written for businesses, not consumers.
The pilot
Casebook is currently offered as a pilot. That means the product is still being shaped, features may change or be withdrawn at short notice, and we will ask for your feedback as we go. Pilot pricing, if any, is agreed separately in writing. Either side can end the pilot on 30 days' written notice. When the pilot ends we will either move you to a standard subscription on terms you agree to, or return and delete your data as described in our privacy notice.
Your licence
While these terms apply, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for your staff to use Casebook for your firm's own business. You may not resell it, share logins outside your firm, copy or reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing product. Everything in the software, including its design, code and documentation, stays ours. Your data stays yours.
Accounts and acceptable use
- Each user needs their own login. You are responsible for keeping credentials safe and for what is done under your firm's accounts.
- Tell us promptly if you think an account has been compromised.
- Only put into Casebook data you have the right to hold and process.
- Do not upload anything unlawful, malicious or designed to disrupt the service.
- Do not attempt to access another firm's data or test the security of the service without our written agreement.
We may suspend access where we reasonably believe these rules are being broken, and will tell you why.
You remain the regulated firm
Casebook helps you organise cases, track steps and keep records. It does not give financial advice, does not assess suitability, and nothing it shows should be treated as a recommendation to you or your clients. You remain fully responsible for your regulatory obligations, including the suitability of any advice, your record keeping duties, client communications and anything your principal firm or the FCA requires of you. Where Casebook offers AI reading of documents, the output is a starting point for a human to check, not a conclusion. Please review it before you rely on it.
Your data
You are the data controller for your client data and we are your processor. Our privacy notice sets out where data is held, the subprocessors we use and how long we keep it. You can export your data at any time. You promise that you have a lawful basis for the data you put into Casebook and that your own privacy notices cover its use in software like this.
Availability and support
We will use reasonable endeavours to keep Casebook available and to fix faults quickly. We do not promise uninterrupted service during the pilot. Planned maintenance will be done outside normal UK working hours where we can, and we will give notice where practical. Support is by email at support@chronicle-ai.uk during UK business hours.
Fees
Any fees for the pilot are set out in the written pilot agreement or invoice. Fees are payable within 30 days of invoice unless agreed otherwise. We may change pricing when the pilot ends, with at least 30 days' notice.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data that you have not exported where we have offered the means to do so, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you under or in connection with these terms, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is capped at the fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Where no fees have been paid, the cap is £100. Casebook is provided "as is" during the pilot and we give no other warranties.
Confidentiality
Each side will keep the other's confidential information private and use it only for the purposes of these terms. This does not apply to information that is already public, independently developed, or required to be disclosed by law or a regulator.
Ending the agreement
Either side may end these terms on 30 days' written notice, or immediately if the other side seriously breaches them and does not put it right within 14 days of being asked. On ending, your access stops, any unpaid fees become due, and your data is handled as set out in the privacy notice.
General
- We may update these terms. We will give at least 30 days' notice of material changes by email or in the app.
- Neither side is responsible for failure caused by events outside its reasonable control.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- These terms are the whole agreement between us about Casebook, alongside the privacy notice and any written pilot agreement.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
